The New Orleans Pelicans have become one of the worst teams in the league over the past few seasons. With the exception of last year, they haven't made the playoffs despite having a generational talent in Anthony Davis.

Now that the All-Star forward has already requested a trade from the franchise, speculations have began that the team could be on the move, specifically to Seattle, over the next few years.

However, team owner Gayle Benson denied these rumors, saying she has no intention of selling the team ever.

Every team owner's goal is, of course, to do everything in their power to help their franchise attain success. However, Gayle Benson and the Pelicans have no clear direction, and the only sure thing that they are about to do is to trade their superstar this summer.

The Pelicans can still try to work it out with Anthony Davis, who will be eligible to receive a supermax contract close to $230 million over the next five or six years if he stays in New Orleans.

However, if AD still wants to be traded by the end of the season, then the Pelicans will have to rebuild. They can begin that process by wisely selecting the best prospect in the draft, but it will still depend on the pick they will land this June.

There's a sense of urgency for Benson to turn the fortunes of the franchise around, otherwise, selling the team to a much competitive management might be the best way to go.
