Last April, New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson sparked rumors of a possible move to the New York Knicks when he professed his love for the city and its basketball culture. Of course it didn't help that there were rumors he wasn't happy with the team in NOLA; the Pels have failed to surround him with enough talent to compete.

However, somewhat lost in the reports that focused on his love for New York was his earlier statement about his feelings on playing in New Orleans. He did say that New Orleans is still his favorite place to play.

Williamson reiterated his happiness to be with the Pelicans, adding that New Orleans is the city for him since he never really liked to be in a big city on a big-market team.

“Anybody that knows me, they know that I love New Orleans. This is the city for me. I'm a low-key dude, and this city just fits me,” Williamson said on SiriusXM NBA Radio.

Pelicans fans will certainly love Zion Williamson's latest remarks. After losing Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers, the franchise really needed a ray of hope. Then came Zion, who made the blow of losing AD somewhat bearable.

With that said, it would be devastating if the Pelicans were to lose Zion to another big-market team like the Knicks. However, based on what the 21-year-old is saying, it doesn't look like he has any plans of leaving the team.

Nonetheless, as everyone knows, winning is everything in the NBA. The Pelicans still need to show Zion that they are committed to winning at the highest level if they want to keep him in the long run.
