The New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks series has been one of the more exciting matchups during the 2021 NBA Playoffs. Derrick Rose is playing like his former MVP self while Trae Young is proving why he's one of the NBA's rising stars. It's nice to have the Knicks back in the playoffs after all these years, as they're one of the NBA's most coveted franchises. In those post, we'll be looking at some Knicks-Hawks Game 4 predictions.
Game 3 had an interesting outcome, as the Hawks eventually pulled away and won the game. However, Atlanta dominated most of the game. They shot 51.9% from the field and 59.3% from the three-point line. In comparison, the Knicks shot a measly 35.8% from the field and 30% from beyond the arc. The only reason the game was relatively close was due to the 27 points New York accumulated from the free-throw line. This was a game the Hawks should have ran away with, but their lack of discipline kept the Knicks in it.
As we head into Game 4, New York looks to even up the series while Atlanta aims to take a commanding 3-1 lead. The Knicks will have to be more efficient with their shooting to earn a victory on Sunday, while the Hawks need to focus on committing fewer fouls. With that said, here are three bold predictions for the Knicks-Hawks Game 4 NBA Playoffs game.
Rose and Young drop 60+ points total
We've been watching some stellar play from the backcourt in this matchup. Trae Young keeps showing everyone why he's a rising star, while Rose has emerged as the Knicks' go-to player. It's been a great battle watching the young-gun versus the wily veteran duke it out on the court. Game 4 should be no different as everything is on the line in this game.
Look for Rose and Young to drop 60+ points on Monday. They'll likely be going right at each other in Game 4, as they each have something to prove. Rose wants to show he can still be a legitimate starter in the NBA, while Young wants to elevate his game and be recognized as a top-five point guard in the league. This should be a fun one and hopefully, we witness both of them light up the scoreboard.
Julius Randle comes alive
Julius Randle has been a tad quiet since the beginning of the playoffs. After having a monster season that put him in the running for the Most Improved Player Award, he's taken a backseat and played more like a role player. He's only averaging 14.6 points per game in this series, which is 10 points less than his average in the regular season.
If New York hopes to tie the series and, better yet, move onto round two, Randle has to return to regular form. He's played a large part in the Knicks' success this year, and without him, the team is struggling to keep up. Randle is the key piece in this series. If he comes out and dominates, the Knicks should have no problem winning Game 4.
Knicks-Hawks Game 4 results in a tied 2-2 NBA Playoffs series
Between Derrick Rose and Julius Randle, the Knicks could be too much for the Hawks to handle. In a crucial playoff game, New York will lean on Rose and his veteran leadership to pull them through. However, with Randle getting hot and playing like he has this year, the Knicks should be able to obtain the win. However, if Randle does not elevate his game, then New York could be in trouble.
