The most decorated United States Olympics basketball player ever found himself being decorated and honored in a cool way this week in Rio.

While walking through the favelas of Rio, Carmelo Anthony encountered a graffiti artist painting a mural of Anthony himself.

Anthony went to Snapchat to tell the story.

The Knicks superstar really appreciated the gesture and the experience overall while walking through some of the slums of the city of Rio.

Anthony became the United States' all-time leading Olympic scorer during the Rio games as he is in search of his 3rd gold medal. Team USA will play Argentina in the first round of the knockout stage tomorrow night.

This is the 4th straight Olympic games for Anthony, who has clearly found a way to appreciate experiencing what it's like to visit other countries in the summer.

Basketball continues to grow as one of the most popular sports worldwide, and Anthony's continued participation for Team USA is clearly helping increase his popularity across the globe.
