New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony has at least one supporter on his side that would side a trade from the Big Apple to a team nearby.

LaLa Anthony appeared as a guest on HOT97, and gave her thoughts on the Anthony trade rumors, saying that she wants her husband to remain a Knick.

“My preference is to stay as close to (our son) Kiyan as possible. As his mom, that's my priority.”

“Cleveland's close. New York is close. Toronto is close. Boston is close.”

After parting ways with team president Phil Jackson on Wednesday, the Knicks still feel that their future plans would be best without the 10-time All-Star on the roster.

Anthony himself would prefer to remain with the Knicks as well to be near his son even if another location is imminent.

Mrs. Anthony also spoke highly of the forward's parenting as an “incredible father” and how the marriage has not been dissolved.

The four-time Olympian averaged 22.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists last season for the Knicks with about $54 million remaining on the last two years of his contract.
