After spending a whopping $80 million on their only two signings this summer, the New York Knicks are still in search of a starting point guard, inquiring about Phoenix Suns bruising guard Eric Bledsoe and free agent point man Ramon Sessions, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.

The Suns could become part of the Knicks' plans in a four-team trade that can bring star forward Carmelo Anthony to the Houston Rockets if the cards stack in the right places.

New York has belief in their eighth overall selection point guard Frank Ntilikina, but the Frenchman will need a mentor to guide him through an NBA game that is much faster and more physical than the Euroleague.

The Knicks are in a dire situation and could end up using Ron Baker, their new, shiny $8.9-million-man as a point guard next season if all else fails — after all, tanking hasn't been out of the question with the possibility of getting the highly-touted Michael Porter Jr. next season with the top pick in next year's draft.

The organizational goal would be to develop their young guns in Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., Willy Hernangomez and Ntilikina throughout the season, making strides in an otherwise lost season if they're still unable to move Melo by the new trade deadline.

The Knicks have only $1.5 million left in cap space to use on a free-agent point guard, but could spend more than their cap space allows by using the veteran’s minimum exception — a $2.3 million deal for players that have played 10 seasons in the league.

Sessions could become a potential free agent signing, as well as Donald Sloan, who played in China last season after a 2015-16 stint with the Brooklyn Nets.
