Enes Kanter has fallen in love with playing for the New York Knicks. In fact, Kanter likes to play for the Knicks so much he told Al Iannazzone of Newsday that he is okay with the idea of finishing his career in the Big Apple.

“You realize after you play for the Knicks, you don’t want to play for nobody else,” Kanter said. “Everything you need is here, the staff, the crowd, the team, the organization, you don’t want to play for nobody else. This is the place.”

Before becoming a Knick, Kanter spent three seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder, a team he also openly liked so much playing with. However, that was not enough for the Thunder not to include him in a package sent to New York for Carmelo Anthony back in September.

Although he felt a little hurt when the Thunder sent him to New York, Kanter did not let that from affecting his performance. So far this season, Kanter has been a terrific frontline piece for the Knicks, as he is averaging 13.4 points and 9.9 rebounds in 25 minutes per game. Kanter has formed a great frontline tandem with Kristaps Porzingis, who is now able to focus more on shooting the ball and less on rebounding and guarding opposing big men at the post with Kanter around.

Hopefully for Kanter, the Knicks will sign him to a new deal at the end of the season. Kanter is bound for free agency in the coming summer, but even if the Knicks will not want him back, there should be plenty of teams lining up for the 25-year-old’s services.
