Marcus Morris has a plan to stop Kristaps Porzingis, as his New York Knicks will be without Mitchell Robinson, who is undergoing the concussion protocol after catching an elbow during Wednesday game against the Detroit Pistons. Morris will likely line up at power forward, forced to battle Porzingis as Julius Randle slides to the center spot.

“Stand under him, stand next to him, push him, lean on him a little bit,” said Morris, according to Stefan Bondy of The New York Daily News.

This has been the playbook strategy against European players for decades in the NBA, but Porzingis has put on several pounds of muscle since suffering a torn ACL that sidelined him for more than a full season.

Morris was measured at 6-foot-8 after the latest NBA accurate listings, which means he's giving up at least seven inches to the 7-foot-3 Porzingis. While the unicorn has the size and length advantage, Morris is hoping that attacking his lower body will keep him away from a point of advantage.

“(Porzingis) is tall, he’s crafty. He’s not really that physical, so we try to return the favor and use something against him. That’s just my approach,” Morris said. “I’ve seen it work in the past. He’s going to be riled up. Dallas is happy that he’s here. So it’s going to be a good one.”

It's yet to be seen if Porzingis' workouts have paid off and made him a stronger player, considering he will have his first chance to show it in this revenge game against his former team.
