After losing Game 1 of their first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks, the New York Knicks could sure use a boost right now. As it turns out, this could come in the form of big man Mitchell Robinson who himself recently sent out a cryptic tweet teasing a possible return.
Prior to Wednesday's Game 2 rematch, Robinson had more than a few Knicks fans excited after this tweet:

Robinson has been out of action for the Knicks since late march after the 7-foot center suffered a fractured foot just four games into his return from a hand injury. He hasn't taken the floor since, and the general belief was that he was done for the season. Robinson's latest activity on social media, however, seems to point to the fact that he could be coming back in the near future.

Mitchell Robinson is "basically the same. He's several steps away," Tom Thibodeau says. He hasn't been cleared for team practice yet.
"We're not taking any chances with him," Thibs said.

Perhaps we all just misread Robinson's tweet? Or maybe coach Thibs is just keeping things under wraps? While this would not be totally surprising, odds are, the prospect of Robinson returning for the Knicks this season remains to be wishful thinking.
For what it's worth, Robinson will be on an expiring deal next year. He's proven to be a key piece for the Knicks and their young core, so the 23-year-old could be in store for a big-money extension come the offseason.
