New York Knicks head coach David Fizdale says that rookie Mitchell Robinson will spend time in the G League this season. Interestingly, Fizdale hints that this is not a demotion, rather an approach that will address Robinson's growth as a player.
Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News tweeted out this development from the Knicks camp.
Fizdale says Mitchell Robinson will spend time in the GLeague this season, just because he needs playing time.

Projected as an NBA lottery pick before entering college, Robinson would encounter eligibility issues that forced him not to play college ball even a single minute. As such, scouts weren't able to see him play in a full game and he ultimately fell off from teams' radar leading up to this year's draft. The Knicks grabbed him in the second round in what many believe as one of the biggest steals of the 2018 NBA Draft.

The 7-foot-1 center is still a bit lanky as he needs to bulk up even more to match up with the league's bigger and stronger centers. Other than that, he has all the skills to be a modern big man, as described by Jeremy Woo of Sports Illustrated.
“Uncommon athletic ability, able to play above the rim and run the floor with surprising speed for someone his size. Has measured with a 7’4” wingspan and 9’3” standing reach.
Constant threat to finish lobs and generate easy baskets. Dunks everything. Explosive off the ground. Plays hard.
Good timing as a shot-blocker. Length and athletic ability allow him to compensate for mistakes. Nice upside as a rim protector.”
Oh, and Robinson does not back down from anyone too, owing to an on-court altercation with Markieff Morris of the Washington Wizards.
