The New York Knicks are still determined to bring Kevin Durant to the Big Apple. However, should they fail, they have DeMarcus Cousins as their Plan B.

According to Marc Stein of The New York Times, the Knicks are looking at Cousins as another potential free agent target should they miss out on Durant. The Knickerbockers are reportedly weighing on giving the former All-Star center a one-year deal should the need arise.

Durant's future remains uncertain as he recovers from a ruptured Achilles he sustained in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. He is expected to be sidelined for the entirety of the 2018-19 season, though that has reportedly not lessen the interest of the Knicks in signing him.

KD is set to get a max contract this summer, making his signing a high-risk/high-reward deal.

The Warriors, however, will also be aggressive in keeping Durant. The team has consistently expressed their desire to have him back, with Andre Iguodala even saying recently that no one will go to the Knicks as they will keep Durant.

Cousins, on the other hand, is likely out of Golden State. He is set to get a bigger deal than the $5.3 million mid-level exception he signed with the Warriors last summer, which makes him a viable target for New York.
