The NBA’s last two minute report can be the referees’ best ally when it comes to proving they have done their job at a satisfactory level – or it can also be a tool for angry fans to justify their unsavory actions towards game officials a night prior.
It was the latter case, unfortunately, for the crew that worked the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Boston Celtics game on Tuesday, however, as the league released a last two minute report that says the referees in that contest missed calling a five-second violation on Celtics power forward Marcus Morris prior to his game-winning three-point shot, per Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe.
NBA’s Last 2 Minute Report from last night says Marcus Morris should have been called for a 5-second violation before final inbounds pass, and that he traveled before hitting his game-winning 3. Also, enhanced video showed Terry Rozier traveled twice. No missed violations on OKC.

After apparently escaping the wrath of the referees’ whistles during that inbound play, Morris would get the ball back off a drive-kick pass from Jayson Tatum and hit the game-winning three that capped the Celtics improbable 100-99 come-from-behind victory.
The Celtics were down five points with only 12.7 seconds remaining on the game clock in that game, but the combination of two missed free throw shots from Oklahoma City and a three-pointer each from Terry Rozier and Marcus Morris paved the way for one of the craziest finishes this season.
Tatum led the team with 23 points while Morris chipped in 21 markers for the Celtics, who will get back on the court this Friday against the Portland Trail Blazers on the road.
