The Oklahoma City Thunder agreed to trade Jerami Grant to the Denver Nuggets for a first-round pick in 2020 on Monday. The pick, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe, will be of the top-10 protected variety over the next three drafts, and there is another caveat.
In the unlikely event the Nuggets are unable to convey the pick within the next three drafts, the deal converts to a pair of second-rounders:

Grant, now 25 years of age, enjoyed a fine 2018-19 NBA season. In fact, it was the most productive campaign of his five-year career. The former Syracuse standout made 80 appearances (77 starts), racking up averages of 13.6 points on 49.7 percent shooting from the field (39.2 percent from beyond the arc), 5.2 rebounds, an assist and 1.3 blocks in 32.7 minutes per outing.
The Thunder have a host of first-round picks at their disposal now. The team acquired five first-round selections from the LA Clippers in the Paul George trade. Sending Grant to the Nuggets brought another:

Oklahoma City finished the 2018-19 regular season with a 49-33 overall record, which earned the team a No. 6 seed in the Western Conference Playoffs. Unfortunately, though, the Thunder were defeated by the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round, 4-1, and they might be on the verge of trading Russell Westbrook and rebuilding in the wake of trading George.
