In an interview with Brett Dawson of The Athletic, Thunder GM Sam Presti discussed about their plan of attack heading into this 2019-20 season:
Many are expecting the Thunder to fall off in the Western Conference playoff picture after trading away Westbrook and George.
Sam Presti got a massive haul of assets from the Clippers in exchange for the All-NBA forward. In addition to All-Rookie Second Team guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Thunder also received four unprotected first round picks, one protected first rounder, and two pick swaps in the PG trade.
OKC also acquired veteran point guard Chris Paul from the Houston in exchange for Westbrook. Along with CP3, the Thunder also received a number of picks from Houston.
All eyes are on Sam Presti, waiting for what his next move will be. Many are expecting him to move Paul at some point this season. However, if the Thunder are able to compete with the 34-year old point guard leading the team, perhaps they'll still try to make a push towards the playoffs if that is within reach.
