With yet another triple-double added to his resume during the Oklahoma City Thunder's 121-108 victory over the Detroit Pistons, superstar point guard Russell Westbrook made NBA history in the process.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau via a tweet posted by ESPN Stats & Info, Westbrook became just the second player in the NBA's long history to have three seasons in a row with at least 15 triple-doubles. The Thunder superstar's streak trails only the legendary Oscar Robertson, who had five straight seasons of at least 15 triple-doubles in the 1960's.

Westbrook was a beast on Saturday night at Little Caesars Arena, as the reigning Most Valuable Player went off for a game-high 31 points on 13-of-22 shooting, 13 assists, 11 rebounds, and two steals. He now averages 25.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 10.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game in 49 contests thus far.

This was a very eventful game for the Thunder, both good and bad. With a free-throw made with 8:30 left in the third quarter, star forward Carmelo Anthony became just the 21st player in NBA history to score at least 25,000 points.

Unfortunately, the Thunder (29-20) lost a key player to a serious season-ending knee injury later in the third quarter when Andre Roberson appeared to slip on a wet spot and tore his left patellar tendon in the process. He's definitely a huge loss for Oklahoma City, who will miss his tenacious defense and intangibles.

The Thunder, who have now won seven straight contests will have Sunday off as they return home for Monday night's contest against the Philadelphia 76ers at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
