The NBA league office has fined Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Billy Donovan, point guard Russell Westbrook, and forward Paul George $15,000 each for “public criticism of the officiating” stemming from Sunday's 103-99 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, according to Fred Katz of The Norman Transcript.

Both players and coach were critical of the officiating after star forward Carmelo Anthony was ejected from the game moments after catching center Jusuf Nurkic with an elbow in the face during a drive to the basket.

Anthony scored the bucket and was ruled an and-one opportunity, but officials gathered and tossed Anthony out of the game after seeing Nurkic down on the ground grabbing his face.

Westbrook was also recently whistled for a Flagrant 1 foul against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday, catching rookie Bogdan Bogdanovic with a shot to the chin upon landing from a jump shot.

Knowing he was being punished by the league for his previous comments, he declined to further discuss the incident.

The officials have called several offensive flagrant fouls to start this season, as the league has emphasized for them to be overly observant on any contact above the shoulders and below the belt.

This has caused frustration for coaches and players, and the NBA has reeled in all the fines stemming from it.
