Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook has the utmost confidence in his game, and his latest remarks prove it.

“I'm the best rebounder at my position, the best passer at my position, the best defender at my position,” Russell Westbrook told ESPN after Sunday's loss to the Dallas Mavericks. “I can do everything, and I pride myself on doing that.”

Westbrook's comments might seem a bit brash to some, but he is indeed one of the best defenders in the league. For reference, his 2.8 steals per game are leading the NBA by a wide margin. And in the month of December, he averaged 3.4 steals per contest.

Westbrook has established himself as one of the best players in NBA history, to be sure. The former UCLA standout has racked up several notable accolades over the course of his 11-year career in the league, including seven All-Star nods, two All-Star game MVP awards, two All-NBA First Team selections and two scoring titles.

Though he's reached the age of 30, Westbrook is showing no signs of regression. In fact, it seems to be just the opposite. In 28 appearances with the Thunder this season (all starts), he's racked up averages of 21.0 points on 42.6 percent shooting from the field, 10.7 rebounds and 10.1 assists.

“I see a big jump defensively in him, where he's taking those matchups and won those matchups,” Paul George said of Westbrook. “Defensively, he's getting after guys.”

Russell Westbrook and the Thunder have played their way to a 23-13 record through the early stages of this season. They're next shot at claiming a victory comes on Wednesday night, when they'll travel to Los Angeles for a matchup against the Lakers. Tip-off inside the STAPLES Center is set for 10:30 p.m. ET with TNT having live broadcast coverage.
