Steven Adams is on an offense tear lately.
In his last three games, he's scored 66 points on a ridiculous 28-of-34 shooting (82.4 percent). Those numbers are reminiscent of a certain Los Angeles Lakers legend who holds the NBA's all-time scoring record.
But Adams may not know who that Lakers legend actually is, per Fred Katz of the Norman Transcript.
Enjoyed @BerryTramel asking Steven Adams if he’s “turning into Kareem Jabbar” and Steven calling him out on not saying his full name: “Who the hell is Kareem Jabbar?” pic.twitter.com/LGblSZOwzA

Adams is only 24 years old. It's entirely possible that he grew up in a world where Abdul-Jabbar wasn't exactly a household name, especially considering Adams grew up in New Zealand.
But to be fair to Adams, the question asked of him was if he was turning into “Kareem Jabbar.” At first hearing, that would put off even the most die-hard NBA fan. Usually when people talk about the Lakers legend, they either address him by his full name, or just his first name, Kareem.
It's good to see that an NBA basketball at least knows of the player who has scored more points than any other player ever. However, Adams probably should've realized the reporter just left out part of Abdul-Jabbar's name. Only two total players in NBA history were named Kareem, and the other was Kareem Rush.
But maybe the reporter will know from now on that full names are important, too.
