Don’t expect to see Evan Fournier play another game this season. According to a report by Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel, Fournier is most probably going to spend the rest of the 2017-18 campaign on the sideline.
Evan Fournier, who sprained the MCL in his left knee on March 7, is “unlikely” to play before the end of this season, Magic coach Frank Vogel said.
There is no sense of urgency for the Orlando Magic to rush Fournier back into action. The Magic are bound to finish another disappointing season. They enter Wednesday’s home game against the Brooklyn Nets with a 22-51 record. No one is going to bet that the Magic will win all their remaining nine outings, including the Brooklyn game, so it’s safe to say that they are on pace to have back-to-back sub-30-win campaigns. (Orlando only had a 29-53 slate last season.)

He played 19 minutes and scored 11 points on 5-for-11 shooting from the field before exiting the contest. Since then, the 25-year-old shooting guard has missed the next nine games, including the one against the Nets.
In lieu of Fournier, the Magic will continue to give ample playing to Mario Hezonja, who has averaged 10.2 points and 4.8 rebounds in his last five games prior to the date with Brooklyn.
As for Evan Fournier, he will finish this season having played 57 games and with averages of 17.8 points, 2.9 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 32.2 minutes. He owns a career 44.8 field goal shooting percentage and a 37.9 three-point percentage.
