The Orlando Magic lost a heartbreaking game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night, but that wasn't the only thing they lost at least for the time being.

He played 19 minutes against the Lakers before leaving the game with what was called at the time a sprained knee, and he didn't return to the game.

Now they have updated that to a sprained left MCL for Evan Fournier and he is already ruled out for Friday's game. After that, it is up in the air, but he could miss an extended period of time.

Although the Orlando Magic haven't had a great season, Fournier has been one of the lone bright spots on this team, and he looks like a piece that the team can build around.

He has played in 57 games so far this year and has averaged 17.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. He is shooting 45.9 percent from the field, and 37.9 percent from deep.

This season is a lost one for the Magic, so it really isn't that big of a loss for the team as they are really better off losing at this point of the season.

It wouldn't be surprising to see the Magic really err on the side of caution and not try to rush him back from this MCL injury.

In the meantime, this will give the Magic a chance to play some of their younger guys, and to really see what else they have on this team as they try to figure out who to keep for next year's team.
