In his fourth season in the league, Aaron Gordon has seen some continued improvement in his performance on the court.

One of the biggest areas where the Orlando Magic forward has seen a large jump in consistency is from beyond the arc, hitting an efficient 41.5 percent. In John Denton's article for Magic.com, head coach Frank Vogel voiced much praise toward his veteran forward.

“He’s not just a spot-up shooter; he’s a pin-down shooter and that says a lot about his development,’’ Vogel said of Gordon, who made five of 11 3-point shots against the Heat on Saturday. “We’re still not winning at the rate that we want, but our young guys are improving. That’s a very encouraging thing.’’

It has helped set the table for a breakout campaign for Aaron Gordon, who's currently averaging career-highs with 18.9 points on 49.9 percent shooting from the field with 7.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest. He has scored in double figures 28 times, 20 or more points on eight occasions, 30 or more points three times, and at least 40 points twice.

Gordon has become the first player in Magic history since Dwight Howard to have multiple 40-point outings in the same season. He is also the first Magic player to record at least 40 points, 15 rebounds, four assists, and four steals in a single game.

Although the Magic have continued to struggle, Aaron Gordon has become one of their most reliable scorers this season. If he stays on this trajectory, it could just be a matter of time before he could become the face of the franchise.
