There are many questions about this Philadelphia 76ers team and if they are good enough to compete for an NBA title with their current roster. They are currently playing without Ben Simmons who is on a massive contract and that certainly isn't ever going to help a team.

Although Simmons is not the guy that the Sixers need, they do need to make a move because not having anybody out there surely isn't the answer.

With all the questions about this team, let's take a look at three questions about the Sixers as they head towards the back part of the 2022 season.

Sixers Questions 2022

3. What is the Ben Simmons situation?

The biggest question about the Sixers seven months ago was what is the Ben Simmons situation and that hasn't changed.

It is still questionable what Daryl Morey is doing with this whole situation but it is his fault that a deal is not done. There are many players out there who the Sixers could go out and get and they need to think about making this move sooner rather than later.

Even if Ben Simmons does want to come back to the Sixers, they need to get rid of him because as we saw last year, he is not the guy that needs to be paired next to Joel Embiid. This was obvious for a few years but it was extremely prevalent during the playoff series against the Atlanta Hawks a season ago.

Philadelphia needs to realize that them keeping Ben Simmons around is only hurting their own organization. If they continue waiting, they will have even less leverage than they even have already now.

All Philadelphia is doing at the moment is wasting some prime years of Embiid's career. He is one of the best players in the NBA and he is certainly good enough to be a number one option on a championship team. All Philadelphia has to do is get back a guy who can compliment him and nobody is going to want to play this Sixers team come playoff time.

Their front office has done a horrible job with the situation and they need to desperately speed up this process.

2. Is Tobias Harris getting traded?

There have been some recent reports that the Sixers are going to think about getting rid of Tobias Harris. When thinking about it, it makes a lot of sense. Not only has he had a down year in terms of scoring and shooting the basketball but he also makes some bad decisions when not passing to Embiid who is wide open or has mismatches at times.

Before the season, he was looked at like somebody like Khris Middleton of the Milwaukee Bucks who could be the second option on a championship team. Right now, he is not even playing like the third option on a championship team and Philadelphia needs to think about getting rid of him.

1. Can this team win an NBA title with their current roster?

At the current moment, there is no chance this Sixers team is going to win an NBA title. They do have their star player in Joel Embiid and he is playing some of the best basketball in his career, once again.

If he can continue playing the way that he is throughout the playoffs, Philadelphia is going to be a team that nobody's going to want to face just because of him. The reality of the situation is outside of him, they do not have many options to go to and that is going to be a major issue once again in the playoffs.

With the way that this current Sixers team is constructed, they have no chance at an NBA title. Tobias Harris has not been playing the way that he needs to be playing and outside of Embiid, they don't really have many contributions from anybody. Tyrese Maxey has really stepped up this year in Ben Simmons's absence and he is going to be another player that teams are going to have to watch out for come playoff time next to Embiid.

If Philadelphia does want to win an NBA title, they need to make a move and make that move as soon as possible. There is no reason why Ben Simmons should still be in this organization and that situation should have been figured out many months ago.

They also need to be thinking about getting rid of Tobias Harris because he's not the player that many Philadelphia fans were expecting and hoping for. Philadelphia will not have a good chance of beating teams like the Milwaukee Bucks, Brooklyn Nets, or the Miami Heat come playoff time with their current roster.
