The Philadelphia 76ers are well on their way to the postseason tournament. The Sixers roster looks completely different than it did when the season kicked off in October. New faces replaced old ones in Philly's attempt to win a championship.

With a new roster comes new lineups and plays, and this has certainly caused a few growing pains through the second half of the season. However, the Sixers have remained diligent with their eyes on the prize: the 2022 NBA Finals.

While many other teams are right up there with them, the Sixers are destined to be the 2022 NBA championship team for many reasons. Midseason moves and unexpected star power attribute to the wide success that the Sixers have had throughout the regular season. That being said, here are the top three reasons why the Sixers will be the 2022 NBA champions.

Why the Sixers are destined to be the 2022 NBA champions

3. Tyrese Maxey is a rising star

Young point guard Tyrese Maxey showed sparks of potential last season. His energy off the bench was electric and he consistently created momentum shifts in clutch moments as a rookie. Now, in his second year in the league, Maxey is proving his on-the-court value more than ever.

He earned the starting point guard position following his fantastic rookie year, and clutch energy has continued deep into the season. At just 21 years old, Maxey is the third man in the Big Three with Joel Embiid and James Harden. His position surrounded by the star-studded company is well-deserved.

Despite his young age, Maxey knows what is expected of him. The Sixers hosted the Miami Heat, the top team in the East, Monday night without the EmBeard duo. Instead of accepting inevitable defeat, Maxey stepped up for his team and lead them to a remarkable underdog victory. He finished the night with 28 points, three clutch threes, and one late-game block.

2. The bench is hot in clutch moments

Typically, the Sixers starters and bench are never hot at the same time. Some nights, the starting five will drop 80 or more, while the bench contributes 20 points or less. On the other hand, on nights when the starters are unavailable or off their game, the bench comes up clutch.

Philadelphia's bench players were key contributors to the Sixers' Monday night victory. Furkan Korkmaz put 18 points on the board, while Shake Milton put up 20. Meanwhile, DeAndre Jordan had eight rebounds, including four clutch offensive boards. Check out the stats for yourself, per Sixers team reporter Lauren Rosen.

1. The EmBeard duo is virtually unstoppable

As mentioned before, there are some nights when the starters, Embiid and Harden included, have a rough night or are simply unavailable. However, when the EmBeard duo is healthy, they are pretty close to unstoppable. According to StatMuse, the pair is +89 in their first 295 minutes together. The stat gives them a 122.5 offensive rating, 105.7 defensive rating, 16.9 net rating, and 63.2 true shooting percentage.

When Harden joined the team, he took a huge weight off of Embiid's shoulders. Under the leadership of these two stars, the Sixers have a clear path to the finals and now is the time for the Sixers to make something happen.
