Joel Embiid has shown, through workout videos, that he has the moves. However, it still remains to be seen how he’ll execute those nifty maneuvers with resistance in front.
As good as Embiid’s offensive repertoire projects, he’s not all about the points. In fact, he was never known to be a scoring machine.
According to Brian Seltzer of Sixers.com and Jessica Camerato of CSNPhilly.com, coach Brett Brown has high expectations for the team’s prized center on the defensive end.
Brown sees Embiid practicing from day 1 of training camp. Understands that there will be parameters, but hopeful for pre-season game 1.

Embiid has some defense in his DNA. During his lone season in Kansas, he averaged 2.6 blocks in 23 minutes per game. The NBA will be totally different though. Players are faster and stronger, but on paper, Embiid has the physical tools and skills to match up, and even dominate, against opponents.
The wait is about to be over and people will finally get a glimpse of how Joel Embiid’s skills translate to the real test.
