On Thursday night, the Brooklyn Nets travel to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers. There are so many storylines going into this game, but one that stands out above the others is the return of Ben Simmons to Philly. Even though Simmons is not going to be playing, it will still be very interesting to see the reception he receives prior to the game. Nets head coach Steve Nash had a very interesting take on that element, as ESPN writer Nick Friedell noted.

Nash on Simmons' return was quoted saying “I hope he enjoys it. How many people get to go into an arena and get booed by the entire place?”

That's certainly an unexpected but comical take. It probably also holds some truth, as Simmons is likely to be treated rather harshly upon his return. Philadelphia fans are already known as maybe the toughest to play for or against.

This matchup between the Nets and Sixers is chalk full of other storylines as well. The Nets' Kevin Durant and Sixers' Joel Embiid have traded barbs earlier this season after each won their respective games.

Don't forget, James Harden now gets a chance to prove that the grass was greener on the other side. Harden was rumored to have quit on the Nets. There did not appear to be any love lost between Durant, Harden and even Kyrie Irving.

But before the game ever tips off, it will surely be all about the newest Nets player. It will be loud. It will be raucous and if Nash is right, Simmons should soak it in.
