NBA trade rumors are tough to decipher.
What's real? What isn't? Does any of it really matter until Woj tweets?
Jahlil Okafor probably wishes it wasn't so fun to speculate because his name is being tossed around as much as any player's in the league right now.
The Philadelphia 76ers are stocked with big men on their roster and lots of young ones that deserve playing time. The feeling is that someone will be the odd man out, and Okafor could be that someone.
One trade rumor that surfaced was Philly swapping Okafor for Detroit Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson. Jackson is a blossoming point guard who may eventually develop into an All-Star and the 76ers are very thin with their backcourt depth.
While Philly would likely invite this trade, Detroit is already set at center with Andre Drummond. Okafor may be able to play some four next to a player like Drummond, but it doesn't seem to be a perfect fit.

And reports are it isn't happening.

This has been a common theme with trade rumors involving Okafor. His fit with the Boston Celtics would also be in question considering Boston's signing of Al Horford this summer.
One thing that seems inevitable is the 76ers moving one of their young big men some time before or during this coming season. Whether that's Okafor or Nerlens Noel or Joel Embiid, someone has to be the odd man out.
