With a multitude of picks in this year’s draft, the Philadelphia 76ers are in a good position to add more young and talented players to their lineup. However, what they are more interested with is the third overall selection that they own, and are apparently looking to trade or sell some of the second rounders they own.
The Sixers also have the 36th, 39th, 46th and 50th picks, and it is easy to imagine them doing their best to move some of them as they do not have enough roster spots. They do have options on what to do with the picks, with the draft-and-stash being the most popular, as the teams can benefit from having a player gain more experience playing elsewhere and recalling them once they feel they are ready for the NBA. But with the 76ers wanting to be a contender for the playoffs, they are attempting to package some of the picks in trades, in order to get something in return immediately, according to Nick Silva of ESPN.

“Their last two second-rounders are in play [for possible trades]. The word is out there,” added another source.
Although there's not a lot of interest expected to be given to the late second rounders, having a deep pool of talent helps raise its appeal as there might be players who can turn to gems once they play in the league. If the Sixers keep their asking price considerable and find a trade partner willing to give up something in exchange, it will be a win-win situation for them and will move them closer to becoming a playoff team sooner than later.
