Despite rumors that Andrew Wiggins and Jimmy Butler never got along during their time as teammates in the Minnesota Timebrwolves, the former has reportedly had nothing but good things to say about Butler following the blockbuster trade that went down on Saturday with the Sixers.

According to Philadelphia Sixers big man Joel Embiid, Wiggins told him personally that he thought Butler would fit in perfectly with the Sixers, and that his arrival would propel the team to the very top of the Eastern Conference.

“They thought that he was going to be good for us,” Embiid said, via Tim MacMahon of ESPN. “They thought that we were definitely going to get along. He wants to win. Wiggs told me that he thought that we were going to win the East for sure.”

That's quite a complement for Butler coming from a guy who many believed was the main reason behind Butler's overwhelming desire to jump ship. At the end of the day, Wiggins is able to put whatever differences he may have had with Butler aside to acknowledge the greatness of Butler as a basketball player.

While the arrival of a third superstar in Philadelphia may have catapulted the Sixers to superteam status, whether or not it will be enough to reign supreme in the East remains to be seen. The likes of the Boston Celtics and the Toronto Raptors may have a thing or two to say about that.
