Kyrie Irving still probably holds the crown for most enigmatic superstar in the NBA. But Ben Simmons certainly comes in as a close second this offseason amid his whole trade saga with the Philadelphia 76ers.

It's been well-documented that Simmons is now back in Philadelphia, at least physically, and has been cooperating with the Sixers organization. But it's still a total mystery whether or not he's going to suit up for the team.

The latest update was that he's still recuperating mentally and has every intention to get back on the court. While he's still not slated to play just yet, he did make an appearance alongside the team after their latest shootaround prior to their playoff rematch against the Atlanta Hawks.

Seeing him put some work in side by side with some of his Sixers teammates is clearly a good sign. This especially after his highly-publicized falling out with Doc Rivers during one of his first practices back with the team.

The Ben Simmons drama has mellowed out quite a bit. But even as his name stays off the major headlines with the season already underway, his situation and future with the Sixers feels just as murky as ever.
