Ben Simmons led the Sixers to victory with a dominant performance in Wednesday night's season opener against the Celtics, and he did it without taking a single 3-pointer.

A lot has been said about Simmons' unwillingness to shoot from the perimeter. Some thought the former No. 1 overall pick would be attempting more shots from beyond the 3-point line this season, as he worked on his form over the summer.

Simmons didn't take any triples in Wednesday's 107-93 victory, or even a single shot from outside the paint, but he still had a great outing. In 35 minutes of action, he racked up a team-high 24 points on 11-of-16 shooting from the field, nine assists and eight rebounds. All five starters scored in double digits, which is certainly a good sign.

Simmons had the crowd cheering after making a flashy spin move in the paint, then finding Kyle O'Quinn for an open look, which gave the Sixers a 90-74 lead. While the youngster didn't make any 3s, he knows what he's really good at:

“I'm skilled, I'm gifted, I'm pretty good at what I do,” Simmons told ESPN during his postgame media availability.

Still, it was Simmons' 161st NBA game without a 3-pointer. Whether or not he'll take a few this season remains to be seen.

The Sixers will be back in action on Saturday night, when they'll travel to Detroit for a matchup against the Pistons. Tip-off inside Little Caesars Arena is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
