Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid got an early copy of the new NBA 2K18 game and tried out playing himself and the Sixers, as he showed in a video he shared on his Instagram (and was then posted by SB Nation NBA on Twitter).

It appears Embiid is still willing to play the game despite his dissatisfaction with it after he didn’t get the 95 rating he wanted.

To the surprise of no one, Embiid used himself early and often and even with his 86 rating in the game, virtual Embiid went off. He racked up an impressive stat line of 35 points (14-20 FG, 4-4 3-PT FG), 15 rebounds, and a block in 16 minutes of play. The Sixers' two No. 1 overall picks, Markelle Fultz and Ben Simmons, didn't get too many touches though.

When healthy last season, Embiid showed he could rack up similarly impressive per minute numbers. He averaged 29.7 points and 11.1 rebounds per 36 minutes during his outstanding but injury-shortened rookie year. If only he could change his injury slider to zero in real life just like in 2K, the league would be in trouble. However, at least Embiid can take comfort in the fact that his 2K avatar can still dominate with no fear of physical harm.
