Joel Embiid has made waves the NBA this season and showed that the Philadelphia 76ers were right in drafting him.

Perhaps one of the best ways to measure just how impactful he has been is by the votes for this year's NBA All-Star Game, which is in Los Angeles. In the first returns of the fan vote for the game, Embiid clocked in at third with 433, 161 votes. He is behind Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James, respectively.

Embiid sounded pleased when he found out about the numbers he received from the fans, per Jessica Camerato of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Embiid is saying all the right things when it comes to his priorities for the season versus a personal accolade. But with the way Embiid acts publicly, and how active he is on social media, he has to be feeling pretty good about being among the top vote-getters for the All-Star Game.

Looking at Embiid's numbers, it's not surprising that he is receiving this type of All-Star buzz. He is averaging basically 24 points and 11 rebounds in only about 31 minutes per game. He has played 29 games already this season, compared to just 31 of the 82 last season.

Embiid would be an immense amount of fun as an All-Star participant. He would probably win MVP of the entire game just for his antics alone.

With how much the 76ers have been on national television this year, and with how well Joel Embiid is playing, he should be a shoe-in for the game this year. Who knows, maybe he will end up with the most votes in the Eastern Conference and get to be a team captain.

If that happens, oh boy.
