Everyone in Philadelphia is rooting for Sixers second-year guard Markelle Fultz after the former No. 1 overall pick had one of the strangest rookie seasons in recent memory.
Fultz, who only played in 14 games last year due to scapular muscle imbalance in his right shoulder, worked diligently all summer to get his jump shot back in order, and the fans want to reward the youngster whenever he hits a shot.
During Thursday's game against the Chicago Bulls, though, the Sixers crowd went a little bit over the top after Fultz made a jumper. The fans gave Fultz a standing ovation after he hit his first shot of the game. Not sure if Fultz appreciates the fans for it, or is embarrassed.

Markelle Fultz scored just five points on 2-of-7 shooting from the field and had three turnovers in the Sixers' season opening loss to the Boston Celtics. Reports over the summer stated Fultz rebuilt his jumper and is a completely different player now. It’s only been two games, but Fultz still looks timid when he's shooting the ball.
Are we ever going to see the Markelle Fultz who put on a show in his lone year of college basketball at The University of Washington? Only time will tell, but this version of Fultz is not even close to the player we saw in college. The 6-foot-4 combo guard averaged 23.2 points and 5.9 assists per game in college, and shot 50.2 percent from the field and 41.3 percent from beyond the arc.
The Sixers are hoping Fultz can regain his confidence and shooting stroke sooner rather than later. He could be a big addition to a team that is expected to be one of the top three squads in the Eastern Conference this season.
