Philadelphia 76ers guard Markelle Fultz is currently in the middle of his preparation for the 2018-19 season after nearly sitting out his entire rookie year in the NBA. Fultz, however, took some time in between his busy schedule to post what seems to be a meaningful public announcement with regards to mental health.

Fultz missed a total of 68 games last season because of reasons that, to this day, remains mysterious. It’s been long known that he had shoulder issues in his first season in the pros, but it’s his apparent failure to recall his normal shooting form that baffled fans, the media, and insiders altogether.  Fultz shot 47.6 percent from the field in his first and only season in college with the Washington Huskies. Then came his NBA rookie season in which he connected on just 40.5 percent of his shots in 14 games, thanks to a bizarre modification in his shooting form.

The Sixers are hoping that next season will be a lot better for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.  Fultz is working with respected shooting coach Drew Hanlen this summer, and it’s been reported recently that that the 20-year-old point guard ‘s jumper has been “rebuilt” and that Fultz is now a “vastly improved player” than what he was a year ago.
