After it was recently stated that Philadelphia 76ers guard Markelle Fultz had neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome and would be sidelined three-to-six weeks, it is now questionable as to whether or not the Sixers' second-year point guard will even return at all this season.

According to The Associated Press, Sixers general manager Elton Brand said it is “to be determined” if Fultz would playing again this season, adding that he “can't say right now.”

Markelle Fultz, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Washington, was originally selected by Philadelphia with the first overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft.

However, due to a strange shoulder issue that persisted throughout his rookie campaign, Fultz played in just 14 games last year.

This season, the 20-year-old has taken the floor 19 times, averaging 8.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.1 assists over 22.5 minutes per game while shooting 41.9 percent from the floor, 28.6 percent from three-point range, and a miserable 56.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Markelle Fultz has been the subject of trade rumors throughout the year, although the Sixers don't seem willing to deal him for the shoddy packages that rival teams are offering.

Right now, Fultz's value is at an all-time low, as no one is sure of exactly what type of player he can be on the NBA level.

In college, Fultz was known as a scorer and a shooter, but on the NBA level, he has looked anything but, struggling with his shooting form and actually looking fearful of taking long jumpers.

This is a rather big blow to a Sixers team that was counting on Fultz to be a key piece of their rotation this season.
