For the first time since 2012, the Philadelphia 76ers are in the playoffs. They are currently 42-30 on the season.

Their spot is still unsure, but it is safe to conclude that the young and hungry Sixers are back in the hunt for that title.

Their last appearance in the playoffs was in 2012. They beat the Chicago Bulls (4-2) in the first round but were eliminated (4-3) by the Boston Celtics the following round. After 2012, the Sixers didn't find any luck. They finished ninth in the following season and either 14th of 15th in the next campaigns.

This season, luck and skill might've finally been on their side. Two of their prized young guns, Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, were relatively healthy all season long.

They also have a good supporting cast in J.J. Reddick, Dario Šarić, and Robert Covington, just to name a few. They are helmed by Brett Brown, who's been with the team since 2013.

A few days ago, Brown commented on the strong possibility of making it to the playoffs. Per Charles Fox of Philly.com, Brown said:

“This isn’t what interests me,” Brown said. “In relation to ‘Oh, we made the playoffs,’ we all get greedy. We all want more.”

“I want more than [40-something wins],” Brown said. “I want to coach my players to truly think that way, too. That’s truly where my head is at.”

“If they can arrive at the playoffs healthy, cocky, and with their spirits up, and if they are playing good basketball,” Brown said, “I like our chances.”
