Now that the Doc Rivers era is about to unfold with the Philadelphia 76ers, change is coming. One of the things Doc wants to zero in on is his former player Tobias Harris, with whom he's reuniting with in the City of Brotherly Love.
Both Rivers and Harris both joined forces back in 2017 to 2018 when they were both still with the Los Angeles Clippers. The 59-year old coach is hoping he can bring the old Harris back or at least the player that played for him in LA.
“We’ve just got to get him to make quicker decisions,” the Sixers head coach said Monday (via NBC Sports). “I thought the second half of the Indiana game was a lot better. He hesitates sometimes. He wants to get in what we call his bag of tricks, but I love Tobias going downhill, making quick decisions — quick shots, quick first step downhill.”

The former McDonald's All-American was gaining strides when he moved to LA and even averaged a career-high of 20.9 points per game in the first half of the 2018-19 season before he parted ways with Rivers and the Clippers. After a season and a half and despite being a staple in the Sixers' starting five, Tobias Harris' numbers have dipped just a tad bit.
“That’s what we got him (doing) in L.A., and we’ll get him back there. But you can tell he’s been doing something different, and we have to get him back to being a quick-decision Tobias,” Doc Rivers added.
Rivers is trusting the process with Harris as the rest of his Sixers squad hopes to make Philadelphia a legitimate title contender in the East.
