Philadelphia 76ers point guard Markelle Fultz was expected to be NBA ready when he stepped on the floor. Likely to make an impact, the first overall pick of the 2017 NBA draft had an amazing year at Washington, averaging 23.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game while shooting 41 percent from the three-point line. It would be easy to assume that this kind of success would somehow transcend the college game to the Sixers knowing how talented he is.

Working really hard on his shooting form and his three-point shots over the offseason, the development has been quite distinct.

In to a recent video seen in the NBA's official account, a more confident and fluid-shooting Fultz can be seen hitting a fastbreak corner three off a pass from teammate Ben Simmons.

His NBA debut last season did not have the kind of impact that everyone expected from the top prospect. Coming into the league playing just a small sample size, something was obviously lost in translation, Fultz had a broken shooting form. With the young point guard in the middle of rumors and speculation, whether it was caused by a shoulder injury or the case of the ā€œyips,ā€ the Sixers organization finally decided to pull the plug on Fultz early in his rookie season, playing only 14 games.

With Fultz finally showing a glimpse of what he was billed to be, he may possibly be the final piece of the Sixer Process to be successful in the long run. It is comforting to see the now-sophomore point guard do his thing on the court, but as playoff aspirations are concerned, they are going to need more from the 20-year-old point guard to get a deeper run in the playoffs this upcoming season.
