When reporting the arrest of Notre Dame cornerback, Devin Butler, ESPN mistakingly used a photo of Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns.
Butler was placed under arrest for the suspicion of committing two felonies, battery of a police officer and resisting law enforcement. Five other members of the Notre Dame football team were arrested on the same night in an unrelated incident, involving marijuana and a unlicensed handgun.
Devin Booker himself posted about the mistake on Twitter simply posting “Really…” before tagging ESPN and Sportscenter in the post.
Really… @espn @SportsCenter

ESPN realized their error and issued an on-air apology to Devin Booker for their mistake.

Of course, once the mistake was made ESPN invited plenty of online trolling:

Mistakes happen, but the internet may never let ESPN live this one down.
