The Phoenix Suns just snapped the New York Knicks' nine-game win streak on Monday following a hard-fought 118-110 victory in Madison Square Garden. Devin Booker had another tremendous performance for his team, and apparently, Book wanted to win this game badly.
After the win, Suns head coach Monty Williams revealed how Booker requested that he play the entire fourth quarter of the tightly-contested matchup (h/t Kellan Olson of EmpireOfTheSuns):
Monty said Book told him at the end of the 3rd that he was good to play the whole 4th. Said he thinks Book understands the moment and needing to step up like he did in the game tonight.

True enough, Booker stepped it up for the Suns when it mattered most. The All-Star guard put the team on his back in the fourth as he finished with a team-high 33 points on 14-of-26 shooting, to go along with four boards and three assists in 41 minutes of action.

The Knicks were rolling prior to Monday's loss. They had won nine straight games and were truly the hottest team in the NBA. They could not, however, handle the fire of the Suns as Booker and Co. stole away a key victory in New York's home floor.
As for Phoenix, Monday's win allowed them to close the gap on the top-seeded Utah Jazz. With Utah suffering a loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday as well, the Suns are now just half a game behind the Jazz for the top spot in the Western Conference.
