In Tuesday's matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker joined the esteemed company of some of the greatest modern bucket-getters, as he became the sixth-youngest player in NBA history to reach the 7,500 career-points milestone.

The only five players to reach the mark at a younger age are each either in the Hall of Fame or on their way: LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, and Tracy McGrady.

Booker has averaged 22.3 points per game over 336 games in his five NBA seasons, including a career-high 26.6 points per game in 2018-19. In February 2020, the Suns guard was named to his first All-Star Game.

On March 24, 2017, Booker became the youngest player in NBA history to drop 70 points in a single game and just the sixth player of all time to accomplish the feat (though Wilt Chamberlain did it six times).

Booker is not the only Western Conference All-Star on a career scoring pace that puts him in elite company with James and Durant. On Saturday, Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell became the third-fastest active player to surpass 5,000 career regular-season points. Mitchell hit the milestone in his 221st NBA game, only trailing the pace of James (197 games) and Durant (205 games).

Of course, Booker is more interested in reaching the postseason for the first time in his career than any individual scoring achievements. Phoenix has opened their seeding games in Orlando with two good results: a 13-point win over the Washington Wizards on Friday, followed by an impressive 117-115 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. Booker added 30 and 27 points, respectively, in the two contests, shooting 18-41 (43.9%) from the field.

Phoenix (28-39) entered Tuesday's game 3.5 games behind the Memphis Grizzlies (32-26) for the No. 8 seed in the West.
