Phoenix Suns star guard Devin Booker casually put up 35 points in their win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday. Chris Paul, who by now should be used to Booker's talents, is actually continually surprised.
Per Duane Rankin of AZ Central, Paul had two words for Booker's stellar performance in the Suns' 127-121 victory over the Trail Blazers, especially since the young guard was coming off a knee injury.
"He's different. He's different."
Chris Paul on Devin Booker's "smooth" 35-point effort.

The Suns are now on a five-game winning streak. They've also won eight of their last 10 games and boast of a 25-11 record for second place in the Western Conference. While Booker has been amazing as usual, many have praised CP3 as the main catalyst for the Suns' impressive season. After all, Paul did it last season with the Oklahoma City Thunder. This season, he's now working his Point God magic with the Suns.
While it is true that Paul is a great asset, Booker is having one heck of a season as well. He's averaging 24.9 points per game on a career-best 49.6 percent shooting from the field before facing the Trail Blazers. Note that his offensive arsenal consists of perimeter shots and driving lay-ups. So shooting almost 50 percent is a pretty great feat.
Early in his career and even up to now, the former Kentucky standout has been compared to Kobe Bryant. Their style of play is pretty similar, from their footwork and mastery of the fundamentals to their offensive tenacity, not to mention their clutch gene. But day by day, Devin Booker is making a name for himself as one of the most lethal scorers in the NBA.
