The Phoenix Suns were able to escape with a narrow victory on Monday night over the Dallas Mavericks. Following Devin Booker's game-winning shot for the Suns, Chris Paul revealed why he doesn't think he can ever retire from the NBA, via ESPN's Tim MacMahon.

Throughout his legendary career, Paul has been involved in a bevy of late-game heroics from different players. Whether it was on the winning or losing end, Paul loves the feeling that comes with playing in a close game in the NBA.

But on Monday night, it was Booker who gave the Suns a much-needed win with a clutch three-pointer in the waning seconds. It was Paul who had the ball in his hands with only a few seconds remaining in the game, with the score being 108-106.

After Paul dribbled to the right side of the floor, he found Booker making a run toward him at the three-point line. The veteran point guard delivered a pass to Booker, who would pull up for a wing three-point shot over Josh Richardson of the Mavericks.

The shot would proceed to hit nothing but net as the Suns took a 109-108 lead with only two seconds remaining in the game. Dallas would fail to respond to Booker's shot in the closing seconds, giving Phoenix their third consecutive win.

Paul, who is set to turn 36 years old in May, is still playing at a high level in his first year with the Suns. Besides still having much left in his tank, Paul doesn't want to leave the game due to the high-pressure situations that bring out the best in every NBA competitor.
