Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker has been seen already walking after sustaining a left adductor strain earlier this week, a major step toward his recovery after the third-year phenom had to be helped off the court upon sustaining injury.

“I'm already walking. Every day it's felt better since it happened,” Booker told The Associated Press on Thursday night before the Suns' game against the Washington Wizards. “I'm on the right path.”

Booker thought his injury was a cramp at first, but upon trying to make his way to the sidelines, he realized it wasn't that simple.

“People said I was doing the ‘Mannequin Challenge,'” Booker said. “I don't ever want to be carried off the court. Anything in my power, if I could have walked off I would have walked off. We had to resume the game, so my big fellas helped me out.”

The Suns are without their talisman scorer, perhaps the biggest potential blow the team could suffer after a estranged Eric Bledsoe decided not to be part of the team any longer. Yet the Michigander took his absence and impending recovery in good spirits.

“It's never ideal for me to miss games,” Booker said, “But at the same time we have to be cautious with it and take our time.”

Booker's groin injury is expected to keep him on the sidelines for two-to-three weeks, but the fact that he's able to walk is definitely an encouraging sign for him and the Suns.
