Devin Booker left Sunday’s game with a hip pointer injury and did not return to the lineup as the Phoenix Suns lost to the Charlotte Hornets 115-110.
“Already dealing with a rib injury,” according to Arizona Sports. “Booker attempted to help on defense against a driving Cody Zeller with 6:53 left in the game but got kneed as Zeller scored an and-one. Booker fell to the ground and grabbed at his left hip area.
He remained in the game, clearly in pain, before asking to come out and walking to the locker room.”
After the game, Booker explained why he played on despite the injury.

Booker started the game at point guard where he might be playing from time to time the rest of the season. The Suns were playing well and led the Hornets 78-57 in the third quarter. The Hornets made a strong run to end the quarter before putting the Suns on their heels in the fourth.
The injury to Booker only made matters worse as the Suns buckled under the pressure of losing their massive lead.
Booker finished the game with 18 points, five rebounds, and nine assists, shooting four-of-five from 3-point range. For the season, he is averaging 24.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.0 steal per game.
The young Kentucky alum is likely day-to-day and may potentially miss the Suns' game versus the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday depending on the severity of the injury.
