The Phoenix Suns entered Game 2 against the Dallas Mavericks looking for a commanding 2-0 series lead. They easily took care of business in Game 1, despite Luka Doncic dropping 45 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists. In Game 2, Phoenix caught fire, particularly in the second half and ended up setting a playoff franchise record on their way to a 129-109 victory.

In the first half, the game was a bit of back-and-forth. Phoenix jumped out to an early nine point lead. But as the rest of the half wore on, Doncic began taking over the game. He finished the half with 24 points on 9-for-13 shooting from the floor. Dallas held a 60-58 lead going to the break.

Then the second half happened.

The Suns immediately started hitting shots. Phoenix re-took the lead, causing some frustration from Doncic to boil over. He was seen having some words with a Suns fan and had to be restrained by team officials.

When the fourth quarter came around, that's when the Suns really broke the game open. Chris Paul completely took over the game, sinking shot after shot. 14 of his 28 points came in the fourth quarter. Once he finally took a break, Suns superstar Devin Booker must have thought it was his turn. He went nuts from downtown, sinking a number of triples in a row.

Dallas held the league's highest scoring offense, the Denver Nuggets, to 99 points per game in the first round. Phoenix has scored 124 and 129 in the two games of this series. They reminded everyone why they were the best team in the NBA this season.
