Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker did not get to where he is today, as a budding superstar, – if he isn’t one already – without help. And among those who guided Booker into becoming a star of his own is veteran guard Jared Dudley, who was teammates with the former Kentucky Wildcats scorer before he was traded by Phoenix to the Brooklyn Nets earlier today.
Booker is not one to let Dudley walk away from the desert, though, without showing the latter some love and gratitude.
“My brother @JaredDudley619, thank you for all the knowledge you have passed on to me. True representation on how to be a great Vet in this league. I learned a lot from you just from conversation throughout the past couple years. I wish the best for you and your family movin fwrd!”
For the record, Jared Dudley was shipped to Brooklyn along with a future top-35 protected pick in 2021 in exchange for forward Darrell Arthur. Arthur is expected to be bought out by the Suns.
Article Continues BelowDudley has played his last two seasons with the Suns, and including all his stints there, he has suited up for Phoenix for a total of seven seasons. Dudley has played for five teams (excluding the Nets) so far in his NBA career, but he’s likely going to call it a day in the future with most basketball fans thinking of him in a Suns uniform.
Dudley got Booker’s message, too, and immediately shot back a response.
Man I appreciate those words! It’s your time now brotha! And don’t forget you owe me a lot of dinners!!! 😂😂 Phx is in good hands 👌🏽 https://t.co/b8oz1TFsZv

Dudley can ask Booker for whatever type of dinner he wishes. Booker recently signed a whopping five-year deal worth $158 million.
