Former Colorado Buffaloes star George King found an NBA home when he was selected by the Phoenix Suns as the second-to-the-last pick overall of last month’s NBA Draft. Now, he’s feeling more secure of his place in the league after agreeing to a two-way deal with Phoenix, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

King spent four years in college with the Buffaloes, averaging 10.2 points and 5.4 rebounds in 127 games (89 starts) in four years in Boulder.

With the addition of King, the Suns have another versatile player on the wings similar to the likes of Josh Jackson, TJ Warren, and the newly acquired veteran Trevor Ariza. King is not expected to make his way to the top of the depth chart of his position, but the forward can prove his worth in the Summer League. The Suns are scheduled to open up their Summer League campaign this Friday against the Dallas Mavericks in Las Vegas.

With a two-way deal, King is also going to see plenty of time playing for Phoenix’s G-League affiliate, the Northern Arizona Suns. With Phoenix still in the process of rebuilding, he could expect being called up by the Suns to the big league from time to time.

King is a 6-foot-6 scorer who can light it up from distance. He shot 40.1 percent from behind the arc in his career in Buffalo and also has a feathery touch inside it, as he connected on 47.7 percent of his shots off of two-point jumpers in his last year for the Buffaloes.
