Phoenix Suns star Chris Paul just cracked 10,000 career assists. It was an undeniably impressive milestone from the 11-time All-Star point guard and it has prompted a congratulatory message from another all-time great in Magic Johnson.

Johnson took to Twitter to heap praise on Paul and his remarkable achievement:

In case you were wondering, no, Magic was not one of the other two players who has logged at least 10,000 assists and 2,000 steals. The other two were John Stockton, the all-time leader in assists and steals, as well as Jason Kidd. Quite the company Paul joins here with his recent milestone.

Nevertheless, Magic himself wasn't a bad passer at all. He's actually fifth on the all-time leaderboard for career assists, with Paul breathing down his neck at the sixth spot. As a matter of fact, Suns star Devin Booker made sure to send out a bit of a warning for Johnson with Paul gunning for his spot in the Top 5. As of writing, Paul is just 138 assists shy of Johnson's record.

Depending on how many more years Paul ends up playing in, he could very well climb the ladder in terms of most career assists in the history of the NBA. Paul currently has 10,004 dimes to his name, and the No. 3 guy on the list, Steve Nash, has 10,335. This is definitely an attainable record for CP3.

Stockton leads the pack with 15,806 dimes while Kidd comes in second with 12,091 assists. He's definitely not touching Stockton's record, but could Chris Paul actually beat Jason Kidd's mark? We shall see.
