The Phoenix Suns could receive a huge boost on Friday when they take on the New York Knicks, as their second-year forward, Marquese Chriss, may already return to action on the night. He apparently did not suffer any setbacks and should already be available to play, according to Scott Bordow of AZ Central.
Chriss said he felt good. If no setbacks tomorrow he should play. Has missed last six games.

The 20-year-old Washington product has missed the team’s last six games due to a hip injury. It was the first time he was forced to remain on the sidelines, as he appeared in all 82 regular season games for the Suns last season. He was the eighth overall pick in 2017 and he had a solid rookie campaign, with averages of 13.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks in 24.9 minutes per game.
Article Continues BelowChriss’ return could not have come at a better time as the Suns are currently struggling to win games and have dropped seven of their last nine outings. The Suns are currently in 13th place in the Western Conference with a woeful 17-31 record, and the young big man’s availability will definitely increase their chances of getting out this rut they're in.
It’s still unknown how much playing time Chriss will receive from Suns head coach Jay Triano, but it can be expected that he’ll be slowly eased back and not rush him as he regains his old form. With Greg Monroe filling in well for the injured Alex Len, and the improvement from Dragan Bender, the Suns can afford to have Chriss see limited minutes first until he shows no signs of being hampered by his injury anymore.
